First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 23 (season 2, episode 11)

This post includes a spoiler. I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 23 twice. 9/10. Story was 5/5, animation was 5/5, voices and audio were 4/5. This was a great episode. The main thing was the battle between Zeo and Elfie. This episode showed how fierce the battle was between two Magia Vanders. And obviously, Ellenor lost to Elfie with ice magic alone, so they both seemed strong. So, the battle was basically one between the cream of the crop and it was worth watching. Zeo's attacks were mostly simple. He used his lightning to move blazing fast, but that was so fast that the animation got good. Like when he threw the wand and then he instantly reached the place where the wand landed, or when the wand came and broke Elfie's clone from an unexpected angle.

First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 22 (season 2, episode 10)

This post includes a spoiler. I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 22 twice. 7/10. Story was 4/5, animation was 3/5, voices and audio were 3/5. I was wondering who Cerridwen was. It sounded like Caldron, and now here she was — she was surely Cerridwen. I should've been more confident that it was her, and it made sense that she put in the effort to make Will climb the tower. Because otherwise, it was irresponsible that she just chose him over others' objections to make him climb, and he ended up being a guinea pig. Although, she had so much free time that she didn't have to work as the head of the academy lol But now, it was the opposite. Cerridwen was her true form, and Caldron was a disguise she kept up with aging magic.

First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 21 (season 2, episode 9)

This post includes a spoiler. I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 21 twice. 7/10. Story was 4/5, animation was 4/5, voices and audio were 3/5. Well, this episode was about one day in Will's past. And he slept almost an entire day until the next Bloom. It was a good episode in that it showed Elfie being saved by Will, and that was one reason she loves him. But even before that, she liked him a lot for some reason. There might be more episodes about Elfie and Will in the future.

First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 20 (season 2, episode 8)

This post includes a spoiler. I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 20 twice. 6/10. Story was 3/5, animation was 3/5, voices and audio were 3/5. This was just preparation for the Second Bloom, and I didn't have many thoughts. The main topic in this episode was more like, what was Wis? Wis was an unknown kind of magic and many people didn't know the details, and there was no book describing it. I guess that was inherited from his ancestors over 500 years and he got that power, but it was still unclear what it was.

First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 19 (season 2, episode 7)

This post includes a spoiler. I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 19. 7/10. Story was 3/5, animation was 3/5, voices and audio were 3/5. Well, this episode was about Will being scouted by 5 factions. Then one of the high mages started complaining and threw a monster he had no way to beat at Will, and he couldn't defeat it. So, Will and Julius started training for the Second Bloom. That was the story.

First thoughts after watching I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class Episode 10

This note includes a spoiler. I watched I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class episode 10. 8/10. This episode was on the day of the Christmas party. And mainly, it was about Maki wanted to talk to Minato Maki arranged a time for his father and mother to meet Umi and her friends talked Maki and Umi started dating I was wondering what Maki planned to do. Honestly, didn't he do it beforehand? So I was a little let down. And also, I wasn't 100% sure why Minato was part of that scene. Maybe Maki wanted her to see their family's true relationship as he hoped. But the dry relationship between Maki's father and mother was kinda realistic for divorced parents, so I'm glad to see that.

First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 18 (season 2, episode 6)

This post includes a spoiler. I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 18. 7/10. Story was 4/5, animation was 3/5, voices and audio were 3/5. This episode was about preparing clothes to enter the tower, then entering the first floor of the tower, and then starting the selection and the First Bloom. The overall story was going as normal, nothing special. But, when Elfie was convinced that Will had to show his strength to the tower, I was like, what were they talking about? Defeating Devander itself wasn't enough for them? Or mages in the tower didn't care about the town at all?

First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 17 (season 2, episode 5)

This post includes a spoiler. I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 17. 7/10. Story was 3/5, animation was 3/5, voices and audio were 3/5. Well, this episode was the epilogue of the academy arc, and mostly about how they recovered from the last fight, and the graduation ceremony of the academy. Finn released Will's power and he needed someone to remove his power. It looked like Caldron was able to do it with the Mage Queen's wand, but Finn just watched it so he couldn't. Then he thought he wanted to take Will and also Aaron thought Will should be taken care of by Finn. But somehow, Finn was satisfied that Will climbed the tower, and didn't stop him. What happened? What did he mean by taking him?

First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 16 (season 2, episode 4)

This post includes a spoiler. I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 16. 8/10. Story was 4/5, animation was 5/5, voices and audio were 4/5. This episode was the final episode of the series. Just kidding. This episode was about the fight between Will and Devander, and also kind of the final episode for the prologue. The fight against Devander was not short but it took almost an entire episode and that was satisfactory. It was great that it wasn't that weak and even the sword was broken earlier, and Elfie's magic was needed for Will. He even used some kind of magic with that sword and Wiz, so why wasn't he discovered? Maybe Finn's involvement was related? If Will alone with the magic was able to defeat it, how much could they go with Magia Vander? That's going to be fun. All other people were just watching. Some people like dwarves and a group who went into a dungeon together cheered him on. But other mages also did, and this reminded me of a character like Naruto. One complaint about the fight scene: the people watching didn't try to search for the headless one or Marze. At least, one of the mages should look for masterminds behind these Devander and monsters because they knew mages using gates reported by Lihanna or others. Well, at least Edward and Serah were in no condition to fight, so it might have been the same for the other professors.

First thoughts after watching I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class Episode 9

This note includes a spoiler. I watched I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class episode 9. 7/10. This episode included Maki was accepted to join the Christmas party Maki talked with his mother about the truth about their living expenses Maki visited Umi's house The main part of this episode was how Maki reacted to seeing Umi's family while they had a normal conversation like a family does, and that reminded Maki of his family's past Maki's past with his family was short, simple, but still sad enough for a character of a slice-of-life anime. And his reaction was quiet, but he couldn't stop crying — exactly like his character, who cared about others and who didn't attack or blame others. And Umi was, well, maybe the ideal girl who chased him regardless of whether he ran away or not, and calmed him down and stayed with him. It was well drawn that she thanked him in earlier episodes that he meant a lot to her, and also, Maki didn't recognize it. From Maki's perspective, she was the first friend who was nice to him and got along with him, so probably he thought it was nothing special. Now, come to think of it, he didn't have any friends because he moved schools from time to time, so his family was everything to him, and I can imagine the divorce of his parents hurt a lot.
