First thoughts after watching Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 Episode 14
This note includes a spoiler.
I watched Jobless Reincarnation season 3 episode 14 twice. This episode was the last episode of the first part of season 3.
So, obviously, the diary shocked him deeply. He was crying, throwing up, and he even vividly understood how Sylphie would die. Maybe the future him added every single detail about her death in the diary so he could remember. So, after that moment, he did everything, even every little thing, kindly because he had seen the horrible things the future him did to everyone. But obviously, that wasn't how he usually acted, so other people thought something was wrong with him and worried about him. Aisha, especially, prepared meals more than usual, for instance.
I wondered what Rudy would do, but he figured out he was able to prevent Roxy from getting the disease. So, he just shared a few things, not all, with Sylphie and Roxy. He couldn't tell them about Man God or about his future self, so he only told them fragments of the facts. The biggest one was that he was going to marry Eris, and Sylphie worried about him because she knew how badly Rudy had been hurt by her. So she was against it. But Roxy didn't know about that time or who Eris was, so she instead suggested meeting Eris and figuring it out.
Then Man God came and this time it confessed a few things. It couldn't foresee that the future Rudy would come. It was able to see multiple possible futures and interfere, but some people's destinies were too strong. Rudy and his family were among them, but Man God figured out his unborn babies didn't have them and had a chance to kill them. Interesting. So that was how it was. And then Orsted was the only one who could kill Man God, but he couldn't reach it because he was alone. Man God was going to be killed by Orsted and descendants of Rudy, and that was the reason it interfered with Rudy. Anyway, Rudy was ready to accept whatever Man God asked and Man God asked him to kill Orsted. And that was what he made up his mind to do. Honestly, I hadn't understood why he obeyed Man God, but obviously, it was the suggestion of the future him. He has to doubt Man God but must not antagonize it, to avoid putting his family at risk. Anyhow, he made up his mind to kill a person, and Sylphie and Roxy were so confused. I get them. This didn't totally make sense because the previous night, he had shared secrets with them, but when he got up, he was suddenly grave and said something you didn't want to do. Couldn't Roxy notice something, considering how long she has lived?
Also, I kinda expected it, but Man God said the future Rudy had misunderstood things. I think he pinned every failure on Man God, like Luke's or anything else, so I wondered which ones weren't actually caused by Man God and which ones were. I think Luke's was actually caused by Man God, but I don't know about the other things, like Zanoba's and Aisha's cases, for example.
Anyhow, of the three things the future him recommended, he started by writing a letter to Eris. On the other hand, Eris was about to leave the Sword Sanctuary. She talked with Nina about some facts and groundless rumors about Rudy. One said, for instance, he was a womanizer who didn't sleep with the same woman more than twice. Was that the gossip about a man who was already married to two women?! Anyhow, at that time, she received Rudy's letter. She couldn't even figure out how to open it so she used the sword. How bad she was at everything except the sword! Then she couldn't read some of the words, so Isolde, the Water King, read the letter. The letter told her how he had felt when Eris left him, and he was already married to two wives, so she was going to be the 3rd wife. Of course, she was shocked and her mind went blank, and also Isolde got mad because she felt Rudy didn't respect women and even asked Eris to come to Asura. But at the end, he also shared he was going to challenge Orsted and might lose his life. At that moment, she decided to go to him either way and left. I hadn't noticed, but now Eris's purpose, fighting Orsted, had become the same as Rudy's. And this scene was very good. That also proved that Eris' training was actually right on the money.
So, this was the end of part 1 of season 3. Honestly, this entire part was mostly just preparation for the next. Still, episode 13 was extremely good, depressing, and cruel, so it was worth watching. It was one of the best episodes I've ever watched, and obviously one of the three best episodes this year. It was especially amazing because we knew what was going to happen, but it went over the high bar the previous episode set. Also, we learned a little about Man God, so this was actually a pretty important part so far.
On top of that, I liked Zanoba, Cliff, and Nanahoshi more because they joined and moved with Rudy more in this part. In part 2, I hope things move more.
Scores
- Episode: 7/10
- Rudeus: 6/10
- Well, I kinda understood why he didn't, but still I wanted him to share the secrets with his wives at least.
- I didn't fully understand why he tried to fight Orsted. He shouldn't antagonize Man God, but does he still have to do whatever Man God asks now?
- Sylphie: 7/10
- She rarely showed her anxiety about Rudy. Sometimes, she should put her feelings first. It was so weird that Rudy didn't share more of his secrets.
- Roxy: 8/10
- She was, like a wife but always saw things objectively. Maybe because she was the second wife? Or simply because she has lived so long?
- Eris: 6/10
- Honestly, I felt a little sorry for her when Rudy's letter was read. From her point of view, she didn't do anything wrong.
- Isolde: 8/10
- I liked that she despised Rudy from a short letter and even asked Eris to come to Asura. She was a nice person
- Man God: 2/10
- I now understand why it tried to interfere with Rudy's life.
- But I didn't believe for a second that its objective was world peace after watching the previous episode.
