First thoughts after watching Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 Episode 13
This note includes a spoiler.
I watched Jobless Reincarnation season 3 episode 13 twice.
This episode was all about what happened to the future Rudy who showed up in the previous episode. In the previous episode, there were no flashback scenes, just the two Rudies talking to each other, but in this episode, we were able to see what actually happened to the future Rudy. This was depressing and heartbreaking.
So, as expected, first Roxy got the petrification after a few cats or rats had been seen. And Cliff was the first to figure it out, and he also found out how and where to cure it. So Rudy, Cliff, and Zanoba went to the Millis church to get the sacred text. I thought they would get the god-class detoxification magic the official way, but they stole it! That was something unexpected. And of course they were chased, and on the way, Cliff got hurt and died. In the last episode, I wondered when he had died, but he died even before Roxy did. And he belonged to the Millis religion, but he even stole its bible to prioritize saving Roxy. I liked Cliff even more here, but I got sad when he died. Of course, Elinalise got mad at Rudy and hit him, but he was well aware that she had the right to do it. Anyway, Roxy was already dead when Rudy went back to his home.
Then Sylphie was trying to comfort him, but he couldn't recover from his depression. Without someone's help, he couldn't do it at all. And then, because he was depressed, he stopped by a brothel one night, but the next morning, Sylphie found him at the door. The future Rudy didn't mention this at all, probably because it was too pathetic for him to talk about. I guess she was worried about him and went looking for him, but it came back to haunt her. Anyhow, that was how she left him and joined the rebels in the Asura Kingdom. Rudy was still a complete mess, but when Rudy's mother slapped him, he decided to follow Sylphie and bring her back. But when he arrived at the Asura capital, all the rebels were dead, and Rudy saw all of them, including Sylphie, crucified. And I didn't notice at first, but she had lost her right arm too. And when he saw her, he flew into a rage and burned an entire kingdom completely. At this point, he was a real terrorist attacking Millis and Asura. The scene was cruel and depressing, but here, he crossed the line completely. He was emotional but I didn't expect he could do this.
After that, his life got even more messed up, and even Lilia gave up on fixing him and all of them left his mansion. He still went to the academy and built a robot that looked like Sylphie. He couldn't build Roxy? Probably he wanted to apologize and really wanted to make things right with Sylphie, so he tried to make her first, but it looked fragile. Anyhow, when I saw that, Zanoba and Julie built some really cool stuff, like an android. But it seemed he broke it by himself? Maybe he didn't want to see a fake her and insult her. He also helped Nanahoshi as he did before. However, Nanahoshi killed herself while he wasn't there. I was expecting him to be there for the last experiment, but he wasn't. It was such a regrettable thing.
But then, years later, Aisha came back to his mansion as an adult and helped him as a maid. She really loved her brother. So he wondered why he couldn't pull himself together after Roxy's death.
Then, he dreamed of Man God. And it told him that the displacement incident had changed the future. And Man God couldn't affect him, so it needed to gain his trust and eliminate Roxy. Once he heard that, he decided to find Man God and started searching the world. He met Eris and Ghislaine from time to time: when he was trying to save Roxy, when he went to Sylphie, and at other times. But she kept attacking him, and he was trying to get information about Man God even from her but of course he couldn't. He didn't really have any clue at that time. Then he didn't want to take the risk of talking to Perugius in case he was connected with Man God, so he decided to get information from Atofe. I don't understand why they started fighting. I guess he just turned down what Atofe said. Anyway, he couldn't defeat her. And then Eris saved him and was killed. At this point, at least 30 years had passed, and Eris and Ghislaine still followed him. She really couldn't find the right words to tell him, and kept loving him for more than three decades. During those years, Rudy couldn't think about much else because he was always occupied with the deaths of Roxy and Sylphie, and then with Man God. So there was no room in his mind for Eris.
Right before he fought against Atofe, his mansion was also attacked somehow, and Zanoba, Julie, and Aisha were killed too. It was still unclear why, but it seemed one of the kingdoms had attacked his mansion. Anyway, he apparently destroyed that kingdom for vengeance. So, at this point, he lost almost all of his family and friends. What it didn't show was what happened to Lilia, his mother, Norn, Elinalise, Sara, and demon's princesses. The rest of them died before they got old.
Then somehow, he found a place with a dragon mural, and he understood that the world had been made by combining six worlds. And Man God was in the center of those worlds, which basically had nothing. What were the six worlds? Demon world, human world, and what else? Or, maybe each God Style actually comes from a different world? Sword, North, Water, Dragon, and what else? Anyhow, he figured out 5 world items were required but needed a decade for each item, and he wouldn't live for that long. So, he got so strong and even cured his own arm with his magic, but he couldn't stop his aging with magic, unfortunately. And he decided to teleport himself into the past and he actually made it, as we saw in the last episode. In his last moment, he saw Sylphie and Roxy, and he saw them with his right eye, which can see the future. That didn't happen in the last episode, so he was able to see further into the future than current Rudy can, I guess.
Anyhow, since he came back to the past with teleportation magic, could that help Nanahoshi's experiment and make her magic successful? I wonder if Rudy will tell her about his future self. Also, Man God can influence many others, apparently, so that was the reason why the future Rudy told current Rudy that he shouldn't rely too much on others, because Man God can interfere. I guess Nanahoshi won't get affected, though. Demons like Roxy probably won't either. Then what will the world items be? I think collecting them and figuring out that dragon board (mural?) will be Rudy's goal. Also, what did Man God mean by "the future changed"? This guy obviously knows many scenarios of the future and also how to make them happen, so how could he not notice? Merging another world?
Music was good. At first, it was bright, but in a sad, depressing moment, the music stopped completely. Throughout this episode, the BGM was depressing or sad. Also, voice performance was pretty good in this episode. I liked Sylphie's voice performance in each scene, and also Man God when it laughed at Rudy and enjoyed it viciously.
Anyhow, will Rudy contact Eris, ask Nanahoshi for help, or maybe try to stop the civil war in the Asura Kingdom? I don't know what will come.
Scores
- Episode: 10/10
- Rudeus: 3/10
- Well, I know he was depressed, but I kinda rated him lower in this episode. But I guess he is a normal person who can get devastated and can be even evil if the worst thing happens
- Eris: 9/10
- She had faith in him for decades. Okay, I really liked these kinds of characters.
- Ghislaine: 10/10
- This woman protected and served Eris for all those years and even saved Rudy. Cool.
- Cliff: 9/10
- I like a person who puts his friends before his own beliefs
- Aisha: 8/10
- Even Lilia, who had been grateful to him since she gave birth to Aisha, gave up on Rudy, but Aisha believed he would get back on his feet, and she came back.
