Random thoughts after rewatching The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 Episode 8

I rewatched Apothecary Diaries season 1 episode 8 twice.

Well, this episode was probably just a side story in the Verdigris House. Maomao's dad was really good, but it was hard to confirm he was right. She might have imagined he was that good and that he was able to guess it from only a small amount of evidence, though he didn't say a word. And also, why didn't he say anything other than asking her a couple of questions? So, I couldn't figure out whether he was really that talented or not. Also, from the result of Maomao's conjecture, it would have been almost magic if he had deduced it. There were 2 drinks and I couldn't figure it out until she worked it through. That said, he didn't receive the money, which included a hush-money fee. So he might have known that at least that person was suspicious. So, they all planned to poison him.

In terms of Jinshi, he got so upset that it was great to watch, and he showed some emotions he had never shown on his face. So, by episode 8, he had already fallen in love with Maomao, obviously, not just interested in her. And obviously, she was probably the only one he couldn't charm at all, because everyone else was attracted to Jinshi for his high rank and how cool he was. Maomao was so dense, or just avoided thinking about it unconsciously, so it would take more time for him to date her. Gyokuyou found it so funny and laughed a lot when she overheard the exchange between him and Maomao. Assuming he was the Emperor's brother, for Gyokuyou, he was like a brother-in-law, though she wasn't the Empress. So, she might have felt he was like a child, and she was happy to see Jinshi act his age.

    • I was impressed with Aoi Yuki's voice actingg to talk in a low pitch when she treated the two people

    • He was so quiet and didn't put much into words for Maomao
  • Jinshi: 8/10
    • His shock at what Maomao said was a good one
  • Lady Gyokuyou: 8/10
    • She enjoyed the funny exchange between Jinshi and Maomao like a friend hearing a funny story
  • Lihaku: 5/10
    • A normal person who was attracted to a courtesan
