First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 24 (season 2, episode 12)

I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 24 twice. 5/10. Story was 3/5, animation was 3/5, voices and audio were 3/5. This episode was the last episode of season 2, and it was more like cooling down than a hot fighting episode.

The most unexpected thing was that Will didn't join the ice faction. I completely expected him to be there, so it was a total surprise to me. At the same time, it made sense, since this way the story can involve not only Elfie but also other Magia Vanders or people in other factions. I thought Will would have the final say on which faction he would join, but from Aaron's perspective, his will counted for nothing.

Colette's obvious jealousy was cute in this episode, too. She showed it in a couple of previous episodes toward Elfie, but she didn't show it to others until this episode. She spent most of her time with Will, I guess, so for her, the situation with Will changed too much. She also tried to confess to Will at the party. But it was out of the blue without any plan, so she never got the chance to do it. And it wouldn't have worked at that party anyway.

Finn, Iris, and Cerridwen's talk explained why Finn let Will join the tower and that answered my original question. I don't know how Finn stayed there or sneaked in there, though. And also, why did Iris call him Invess? Was he a student at the academy or a member of the tower?

Elfie and Will's private talk felt as if Elfie was the heroine. And Workner helped them meet, but if he could do it, why couldn't he have done it even before Will joined the tower? Maybe because she would've gotten out of control. I expected Elfie would talk about Rosty, but she didn't in this episode. Maybe Will won't figure it out for a long time, or maybe never, because she didn't tell him this time. The goal of collecting his lost memories sounded like a good plot, but other than getting help from other mages like Cerridwen, how could he do it? Maybe he would keep remembering out of the blue.

The last scene was, well, expected and unexpected. Obviously, there was a traitor. The voice actor of Headless was hidden. But this story came at the end toward all of the new high mages like this, instead of, I don't know, started somewhere and they would happen to know. Who were the suspects? I have no idea. Maybe the dark faction, Carriot, his assistant, or another faction whose name I didn't even catch were suspicious. We'll see the answer to this in season 3.

Overall, season 2 was great. The battle against the Devander, the battle between Magia Vanders, and Will's awakening were some great episodes. The animation of the battle between Magia Vanders was epic, too. I'll watch season 3. Also, I liked the ending theme. I still couldn't figure out what the child Colette in the ending was about.
