First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 21 (season 2, episode 9)

I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 21 twice. 7/10. Story was 4/5, animation was 4/5, voices and audio were 3/5. Well, this episode was about one day in Will's past. And he slept almost an entire day until the next Bloom.

It was a good episode in that it showed Elfie being saved by Will, and that was one reason she loves him. But even before that, she liked him a lot for some reason. There might be more episodes about Elfie and Will in the future.

Will's Wis power was still unknown, but Cerridwen mentioned a few things. From what she said, it sounded like his body drained most of the magic surrounding him, and that explained why he couldn't use magic. And also he had a similar power to "One For All", so it was exciting that the mage queen, who is somehow related to his power, sealed it inside him so he couldn't use it. I also wondered why he couldn't use his power by himself in season 1 or in Terminalia. But he never took huge damage — he just got disappointed. Because Will forgot a lot of things, maybe his power is related, and it's not only magic but also memories that get lost?

There was a photo of Elfie and Will as kids at the end, in the Single Witch's manor, so Cerridwen might be the person who took care of them in their orphanage. But that picture was drawn while he was asleep, so maybe it was from his recollection?

In terms of animation, it really looked like a dream world at first when Will was in his memory, like a world in a drawing. It might have been a scene from a time he enjoyed spending with her. The colors were a little unusual, and mainly greenish or bluish. But before fighting the monster, the art style went back to normal. Also, when Will held the sword and tried to push back against the monster, Elfie jumped onto the sword and spun around the handle. It was funny to look at because her jumping on and grabbing the handle didn't change the speed or anything between the monster's push and Will's resistance.
