First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 19 (season 2, episode 7)

I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 19. 7/10. Story was 3/5, animation was 3/5, voices and audio were 3/5. Well, this episode was about Will being scouted by 5 factions. Then one of the high mages started complaining and threw a monster he had no way to beat at Will, and he couldn't defeat it. So, Will and Julius started training for the Second Bloom. That was the story.

The first thought after watching this episode was, again? As Will thought, Kreutz was a similar character to Edward. Magic was the only ability they thought mages needed, so he intended to drop Will. Cariot and Serah tried to hold another Bloom next week, and Zeo wanted Will to have another chance too, as Elfie was about to go ballistic. So, it was kind of a déjà vu story.

But I also felt this was necessary for a few reasons. Will needed to train his Wis. Wis was a pretty new skill and he even defeated Devander without training it, so that was needed. Then Julius needed a second chance so he could join the Ice faction, and he needed to help Will train his Wis. But I liked Julius's plot because it totally makes sense why Elfie didn't choose him. Another thing was Zeo. Among the five factions, he didn't choose Will. And he said something as a reason. He wouldn't get stronger or something like that, and that was something interesting.

Other than these story lines, what felt weird to me was there were 50 people who climbed the tower. But on screen, there were only 5 characters or so who got picked by a faction. And I saw only 6 mages who weren't selected, so somehow there were over 40 characters that were selected by some faction but they weren't really talked about. All of them went to a dark faction or something?

I thought the opening was going to be changed in the previous episode or this one because the opening was all about the Terminalia. But it wasn't, so the opening will keep the same animation until the end, I guess. Well, that happens in some anime, but it was a little unexpected to me.

Watched 2nd time.

Kreutz seemed to be a person like Iida in MHA. It wasn't only his appearance — he was also polite, strict, and too serious about what he believed in. Well, in a later episode, his past will be revealed and he'll turn out to be a good guy.

So, Zeo thought Will would come back and would get stronger. Zeo looked like the type of guy who likes strong, fast, powerful fighters like Will, and this episode showed he was, so it was kinda expected.

Also, when I rewatched Julius's training, I realized he surely had a big brain. He thought seriously about how to get Will into the tower, to earn brownie points from Elfie.
