First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 16 (season 2, episode 4)

I watched Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 16. 8/10. Story was 4/5, animation was 5/5, voices and audio were 4/5. This episode was the final episode of the series. Just kidding. This episode was about the fight between Will and Devander, and also kind of the final episode for the prologue.

The fight against Devander was not short but it took almost an entire episode and that was satisfactory. It was great that it wasn't that weak and even the sword was broken earlier, and Elfie's magic was needed for Will. He even used some kind of magic with that sword and Wiz, so why wasn't he discovered? Maybe Finn's involvement was related? If Will alone with the magic was able to defeat it, how much could they go with Magia Vander? That's going to be fun. All other people were just watching. Some people like dwarves and a group who went into a dungeon together cheered him on. But other mages also did, and this reminded me of a character like Naruto. One complaint about the fight scene: the people watching didn't try to search for the headless one or Marze. At least, one of the mages should look for masterminds behind these Devander and monsters because they knew mages using gates reported by Lihanna or others. Well, at least Edward and Serah were in no condition to fight, so it might have been the same for the other professors.

I just remembered that for Will, Colette was nothing but just a friend. She had fallen in love with him, but he had never thought about her as special and always thought of her as one of the other mages. Only Elfie was. What happened between them?

And we finally found out who was the person talking to Will's mother, or at least she seemed to be, Mercedes, and who she was trying to give Will to. That person was Finn. And that made sense that he called Will the sword and also knew Will's power somehow. Who was Mercedes? I guess she was related to Magia Vander, maybe she used to be the leader? That's a bit of a mystery, but she knew they needed the wand and sword to go over the fake of the sky, so at least she saw some problems fighting against enemies outside and couldn't defeat them. Then, maybe Finn knew Elfaria had talent and gave Will to the orphanage so he could get the great sword?

The ending was unique and the full song played, and it was like the ending of a series. The subtitle said it too — it obviously stated the episodes so far were the prologue, and from the next episode it's going to be the main story.

I watched 2nd time. I missed a few things for the 1st time. At first, Mercedes was definitely the person who built the Magia Vander's tower, and the old man called her the Mage Queen. Finn also said it was 500 years ago, so she was definitely not Will's mother, unless Will is actually 500 years old. So, it's likely that the child was Will's ancestor and passed powers down to their descendants. That's the reason why Finn didn't know Will until the last praxis. And how old was Finn? Is he an elf and like 1000 years old?

Then what he used was the fifth element. It looked like it wasn't widely known and only one of the Magia Vander noticed what it was, and not Marze at least.

Finn picked up his glasses and one of the lenses was broken, and the animation showed his reflection only on one lens while talking about a few possible opposite futures of what's going to happen. That was a great animation, actually. On the other hand, Will extended his sword a lot right before he took down the Devander, but it looked like he used the base of the blade to cut it down, so it looked useless. Well, just big animation for fun. And why did he build an ice castle while cutting down many monsters lol

Alright. So, next episode will probably finally go into the tower, and meet Elfaria, but also, probably will go outside of town or even the false sky.
