First thoughts after watching I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class Episode 6

I watched I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class episode 6. 6/10.

The episode started basically with:

1. The dream about the time when Maki cried out to his dad.
2. Planning for this Christmas Eve.
3. Seki's confession to Amami.
4. Maki's preparation for his next date with Umi.

In this episode, finally, Maki's dad was mentioned, and unlike some MCs in other anime, he had a reason why he didn't live with his dad. And that seemed to be his trauma or something as he dreamed about it. And it also influenced his personality, and he wanted to be a better guy for Umi before officially dating her. At least we know why his character was something like this.

Nitta and Seki finally talked a lot in this episode, and they are also animated in the opening. I am still unsure about Nitta's personality honestly, but Seki was a baseball jock and takes action quickly rather than thinking too much, and confessed to Amami. He didn't really talk to her so obviously she turned him down, and because of that, he and Maki became friends. So, I think this person will get along with Maki a lot later.

People knew about Maki and Umi's relationship, but some people didn't know they weren't dating. Because Seki mentioned that Umi got popular in those days, as I guessed in the previous episode, another hot guy will show up and become Maki's rival in a later episode. Well, or rather, it's more accurate to say they were already dating and just didn't admit it. It was ironic that Umi was more like a lead all the time but she was blushing when she talked about Maki with someone else.

There were a lot of low-angle shots showing legs a couple of times in this episode. The first was while Umi and Maki were talking in his room, and it was like, why? Heads or the upper body can show the slight behaviors of each character better than the movement of the lower body while they were sitting. It also happened while they were walking in a shopping mall. This can show the movements and also cut animation and drawing costs, so maybe this was fine.

For the next episode, I wasn't sure how his dad will be involved in the story. Maybe Maki couldn't go to the date and Umi figured it out, but then, what? I cannot guess. Either his mom will find a new man or they will get back together might be the best one but I don't know what is a good one.
