First thoughts after watching Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 14 (season 2, episode 2)

I watched the Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 14.

In the previous episode, the monsters appeared in the town and broke them. Some of the mages from a tower casted their spells like summoning magics and at first, people in the town were amazed with their techniques. But the monsters turned out they could nullify magics, and they all had magic slayers. So even one mage who invited new mages to a tower in the 1st season was cut into two. Magia Vendor, needed to charge their powers in a tower and couldn't move, so they asked Iris to order Dwarves to defeat them. And they were ready to help mages.

Some mages like Lihanna or Sion of course were trying to fight but they couldn't defeat. But Collette used her magic to press them down under the giant statue of a Saint, and they were able to defeat a few of them and they learned they could defeat using a physical object. When she used the magic, she was upset and apologizing to the Saint, and that was kinda funny and also I wondered what she was trying to do.

Anyway, for these monsters, Will was the one who helped people. He started fighting them, but he did so from the edge of the tower where no one was there. And fought a few of them but there were too many of them. And also, the master mind was in the town and the headless also used another magic, opening a gate, and summoned a single monster. It was so fast and stronger than the Duke which Will fought. The Duke was level 27 in the dungeon, and this one was level 40. So, Will was blown away by the first blow, and after fighting a little with it, he really felt scary and wanted to leave. But there was some mages who just sat and couldn't move, and he needed to jump in to save them. Well, thinking about they just used magics to fight against monsters but none of the monsters could be defeated by the magics, I can understand the scariness of them. Also, they usually cast a spell in a distant place and didn't have to move aggressively, except Lihanna, I guess, so they couldn't move as fast as Will.

That monster rampaged and Will needed to fight and then dwarves came and started fighting. But then, there was a trap that any other monsters' powers gathers into that one, and got stronger. It took time to gather, and dwarves tried to stop it, but the mastermind stopped them. Then the another monster was born. Stopping dwarves made sense, sometimes, these kinds of people do not do anything in the other story, so it was great to see these natural movements. But then, from the story point of view, why did they make a strong monster stronger? I couldn't at least understand the level 40's strength already, and so I couldn't understand how much stronger the other monster got. Anyway, Rosty came and help Will to use Wiz, but the monster was in the middle of the way, which was a nice move, and cut his arm with his wand and also blew Will away again. The beast persistently followed and attacked Will, and Rosty made up his mind, pushed him and got attacked by the monster, and was crashed into pieces of ice. I wondered why he pushed Will instead of attacking the beast, but he lost his wand so probably he couldn't use, or noticed it was no use to the beast. And from this animation, it was obvious Rosty was the magic Elfaria used as he broke into ice pieces. So, because Rosty left, after this arc, Will will go to a tower and we can finally see him with Elfaria, I guess.

Also, in the ending, there was an unknown character there, perhaps Collette when she was young, so there would be a her story, perhaps, when she got a friend with Will. That is one of a thing I'd like to watch, because she wasn't 5 years ago and I wondered what made to change her mind to Will.

Watched the 2nd time.

Devander is the monster's name and I thought it changed the form but it just got the power from other monsters' powers. It was a little bit weird that the headless and another man started casting the spell to summon Devander right shortly after dwarves and mages changed the tide. If they would've waited longer, then it might've got stronger. Though I guess, they didn't want to take a risk that someone will find attack them.

Devander's fight was good. Will used his sword to reduce the shock by stabbing it to the building in a sky when he got a hit from Devander, and also it even kicked and took him down while he was flying after he got a hit from it. These actions felt natural but I've rarely watched these details. One thing it could've been better was that when its flying needles hit dwarves, even though they didn't attack it at all, Will started thinking even no sword was effective already. Was it like too fast to give up, but he was mentally down so maybe reached a hasty conclusion too fast.
