First thoughts after watching I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class Episode 1

This note includes a spoiler.

I watched I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class episode 1.

The main character was a typical guy in a slice-of-life anime, who didn't have any friends and was an introvert and enjoyed being alone. I don't even remember his name lol. And he liked some movies or Netflix that other people didn't watch. At his high school, he needed to introduce himself at first, and he couldn't introduce himself like a sociable person does. And then, the next person was the one who was supposed to be the prettiest girl in the classroom, I guess, and while she introduced herself, she also introduced Asanagi, the main heroine, obviously. The character design, or maybe drawing, made me feel sometimes that her body or her shoulders were really wide for some reason at first, and it felt a little bit weird. It was gone shortly, though. That girl reacted a little bit when she heard that he spent the weekend at home watching movies or playing video games. Like other slice-of-life anime, other guys who cared about looks talked about how hot their classmates were. But then, I couldn't imagine how the MC and MH got familiar with each other. And also, the main character wasn't really appealing at that time to me, as he was maybe a little depressing.

Then as the days went by, he didn't join any activity after school, and went back to a Blu-ray shop for movies. And then he met Asanagi, and she actually wanted to talk to him and decided not to spend time with her friends. The main character also knew she liked movies or TV shows and they talked about them, and they knew and liked similar things.

Soon after, they started spending time at his house and played games while eating pizza. Their pizza tastes were also alike and what he ordered was exactly what she liked. But how she played a game was different, and she couldn't win against him, so maybe she didn't play video games a lot. For some reason, in his room, there was a couch, but they sat on the floor and played video games there, and that felt really weird to me. Anyhow, while I was watching, they were already a match made in heaven. That was the 3rd day they met, and they decided to meet up outside next time.

The next scene was not a date scene on that day. It was at school, and he ate his boxed lunch by himself outside, like always, alone. But then he came across someone trying to confess to her and he wanted to leave the place, but then her friends came, and the episode ended.

Well, not that bad an episode, and the character designs, drawings, and animation are bright, shiny, and cute overall. The plot was at first a little bit typical, but it seemed good, too, and maybe it's going to be fun for later episodes.
