First thoughts after watching Classroom of the Elite Season 4 Episode 14
I am a light novel reader for this series and this note includes a spoiler.
I watched the Classroom of the Elite, COTE, season 4, episode 14. It started not from Ayanokoji, but from Kiriyama's PoV. Koenji was 2nd place, close to the Nagumo's group, and Kiriyama was sure that Nagumo and he were the only people who could stop Koenji. So 10 or more people in the 3rd years students were trying to follow, negotiate, and get them in the middle of Koenji's way. I don't remember exactly how many details the LN included, but I felt it's not as detailed as anime, so animators really liked Koenji. He was extraordinary, for sure. He can climb up a cliff just by jumps, he slept but only for a short amount of time, because his REM sleep cycle was, what was that? shorter than others? And then, he wasn't scared on the narrow cliff pathway at all while others did. In the first place, the island isn't really a good place for an exam considering how dangerous it is.
Kiriyama couldn't control the group and his group started attacking to Koenji. They wanted to get a reward of A-class's ticket from Nagumo, so they needed an achievement. But they were easily defeated. Koenji definitely attacked some people, but for some people, didn't he just push them? But they couldn't stand up after his attack and he left the place. Kiriyama planned something because he assumed Koenji thought 3rd year students couldn't do anything to him later. I don't remember he was a smart character, though.
By the way, except Koenji, the only 2nd-year group that entered the top 10 was Sakayanagi's, with Ichinose, and they were just rank 10, so they weren't actually that good compared to the 3rd years students. Maybe there is a spoiler here for the 3rd year students so I don't say the details. But still, was Nagumo's ability that much higher compared to all of 2nd years leaders? I didn't feel so after reading all volumes of the 2nd year's LNs.
On the other hand, Ayanokoji met some students from class B, Shiina and Ishizaki and worked together. At a night, Nanase somehow figured out his place and came to his tent and then shared 1st years' plan.
3 days ago, she met with Housen and another student happened to come to him and then gave him the transceiver. That was from Utomiya, and they argued before reaching to the conclusion. Housen somehow knew Tsubaki was near him and she persuaded him to expel a few students who work alone like Ayanokoji and that's what Housen wanted. Tsubaki understood the essence of characters pretty well and gave them what they want, and she also achieved what she wanted. She also noticed somehow Nanase was around Housen. This woman was actually a lot like Ayanokoji.
Then Yagami came to Utomiya and Tsubaki and gave them the information about the place of Ayanokoji. But Tsubaki knew it beforehand so Yagami couldn't get any reward of expelling Ayanokoji. Utomiya also was suspicious to Yagami because he broke his wristband twice already though Utomiya himself did it only once. Probably that once was deliberate one so he was suspicious to Yagami. Then Yagami left that scene, and Tsubaki using transceivers to surround Ayanokoji. By looking at these, at least Tsubaki seemed to be really from the White room for sure. And what did Yagami do here?
On the other hand, Ayanokoji used a GPS feature and he identified the locations of Yagami, Utomiya, and Tsubaki somehow and noticed 1st years students are surrounded. He didn't even think they were dangerous enough to change his plan. In the 1st place, how did he know where each student was, even though he didn't meet any of them, by just using a GPS search? Did he know enough about 1st years students at that point? Especially, Tsubaki, Utomiya, and Yagami didn't do anything before the exam.
Anyway, everybody knows something big will happen in the next episode.
Watched again. Mikitani and others were really mob enemies who are willing to violent as usual and were easily be defeated. A woman in the class B said Ayanokoji was harmless and I know that's how most students thought he was, but I really felt they were terribly dense from the watcher's view. What happened between Tsubaki and Utomiya? I think even til the end of 2nd years' volumes, they didn't talk anything. And until here, this show really showed that she was suspicious as the one from the White room, considering how badly she wanted to expel, and she didn't care if she was expelled.
Well, but animators really enjoyed animating Koenji. They did whatever they want for him to make him stronger and more agile.
