First thoughts after watching Re:Zero season 4 episode 8

I watched the Re:Zero season 4 episode 8. I remember the story for season 2 and 3 only a little, but don't remember the details of each character that much. This note includes a spoiler.

This episode was the best one in the season 4. At first, Subaru lost his memory, and talked to Emilia and Beako about it. Then he also met other people and was surprised by that fact. Julius was so upset about it and he couldn't even introduce himself to Subaru. Ram didn't believe about that fact and asked him in a different place. She was so upset and sad at the same time. I don't know how Ram felt about Rem, but at least Subaru was the only one who knew Rem before she went to sleep. So, that means nobody in the world knew her anymore. Then he and Julius introduced about themselves. Also, Foxidna introduced herself to other people, though at least Emilia noticed she was a spirit. I guessed it was because she contracted with a spirit, Pack. Ram was surprised, though.

Because they found Subaru fell down in the archive in the 3rd floor and he lost all of his memory in the world, everyone but Subaru went to the archive. He was walking around in the tower and was trying to figure out if he has some abilities like he did in the 1st episode in the 1st season. But then, someone pushed him and he fell down to the 1st floor and died.

Then he returned by death to the green spirit room. I was wondering what happened by this, and now, it returned after his memory was lost. So, he didn't know anything about Return by death, and was confused with the situation, just like he did in the 1st season. But he easily figured it out from the fact that everyone had the same conversations and they didn't know he was able to return. He got a chip on his shoulder because he didn't take any diary and couldn't figure out what happens. But it kinda makes sense because he couldn't tell or share anything about it so it won't help that much. Also, who can predict he lost only part of his memory. Actually, why did he lose only part of his memory? Because gluttony can eat only those in the world?

Anyway, then he wanted to tell about this ability, but he eavesdropped that they try not to join him in his group and he wanted to leave. Then he fell down to the tower, again. Who did it? There was a voice just before he fell down, but I couldn't recognize the voice. Meili? Foxidna?

Then he was very afraid of anyone because he didn't know who did it. After he woke up in his 3rd life, he jumped from the stone, ran to a random place, which was in front of Reid, but didn't say anything to him, and Reid pushed him to the downstairs. He was almost dead, but then the Witch came and saved him. Well, why and how could she come? He even didn't see her so probably he didn't recognize her. She came because the place was exactly like the graveyard? Or can she come only when he was about to be dead, but she couldn't save from the death? But she hadn't come until that time except the graveyard, so didn't totally make sense.

Anyway, Subaru survived, and others were really upset and Ram went ballistic and didn't want Subaru near Rem. Then he wanted to get out of the tower as soon as possible, so he left from the 1st floor. That was because he didn't know he was under an exam and the rule was he couldn't leave until the exam was solved. So Shaula was changed and she was going to go berserk, and before what happened, the episode ended.

The biggest question to me was, what could he do? I think he was dead again, and then Emilia will help him and got out of the situation. But the problem was 1. how to recover his memory and 2. who pushed Subaru and why, and 3. how to overcome the exam on the 2nd floor. No clue for the 1st problem. The 2nd point was because someone didn't believe him, maybe Meili, and thought it was a good timing to kill him? Then 3rd was... Subaru got his memory back and figure out how to win against Reid from the book he read, I guess.

That said, there were only 3 episodes in this arc, so will they finish this tower's arc in the season 4?

Watched the 2nd time.

When the Witch came, Subaru noticed her. I think the Witch appeared because he was alone and there was no risk being seen by anyone else. The voice when Subaru was despairing was... who? Was it himself, just like he laughed at himself in season 1 just before being killed by Pack in the Petelgeus's episode?

Also, Meili said that he let his guard down the previous day, so I'm sure she was someone related to losing his memory. Then, probably she was the one who pushed him. But she was in the conversation just before Subaru fell down on the 2nd time, so she may not be?

In terms of animation, Shaula's eyes had 3 red highlights, but when Subaru left the tower, those highlights changed to 3 pupils. Were they made by magic or something, maybe.
